Initial Hajj Registration Begins Today.. Awqaf Ministry Sets Conditions

Al-Taj News – Initial registration for Jordanians and residents of the Gaza Strip residing in the Kingdom who wish to perform Hajj for the 2027 Hajj season begins Sunday, according to Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites Mohammad Al-Khalayleh.

Al-Khalayleh said registration begins this morning through the electronic Hajj registration platform and will continue until Sunday, September 27.

He called on those wishing to register who meet the conditions to pay 200 dinars for the primary registrant only, noting that the amount will be refunded after registration ends and at the time specified by the Hajj and Umrah Department, while accompanying persons are exempt from payment.

He explained that payment is available through “eFAWATEERcom,” or by visiting a branch of Jordan Islamic Bank or Safwa Islamic Bank.

He noted that the registration conditions include that the primary registrant must have been born on or before December 31, 1980, and must not have previously performed Hajj.

He pointed out that those selected will be required to provide a medical clearance certificate issued by the Ministry of Health, proving that they do not suffer from specified diseases, in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The disqualifying medical conditions include failure of one of the major organs, namely the heart, lungs, liver, or kidneys, in addition to neurological and psychiatric diseases that impair cognition or are accompanied by severe motor disabilities, old age accompanied by dementia, and pregnancy during the last two months or high-risk pregnancy at any stage.

They also include active cancer requiring chemotherapy, biological, or radiation treatment, and active infectious diseases that affect public health, such as open tuberculosis (“pulmonary tuberculosis”).

Conditions for Hajj Fund Savers

Regarding Hajj Fund savers, Al-Khalayleh explained that those who had completed an amount of 3,000 dinars in their balance before January 1, 2021, are entitled to register through the fund’s website without paying any amount upon registration.

As for a woman wishing to be accompanied by a mahram, her registration will be accepted on the condition that she and the mahram had completed an amount of 6,000 dinars before January 1, 2021, or that the mahram is a fund subscriber and meets the same conditions.

He confirmed that Hajj Fund savers are not required to pay any amount upon registration.
